Meet The Face Behind Maclean Accounting

I’m Christopher MacLean, the proud owner of Maclean Accounting.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I became involved in the accounting industry as a full-time employee and student in 2007, as I wanted to help friends and family who were facing the heat with the Canada Revenue Agency as a result of not understanding the fundamentals of their tax situations.

Since that time, I've been involved in running a family tax accounting company for the last twelve years. Once I was confident in my experience of resolving thousands of complex tax issues for people all over the country, I wanted to go a step further and help entrepreneurs achieve their financial goals, so I launched my accounting consultancy company last year.

It’s steadily growing, and I stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies to ensure that I’m able to offer an efficient and full-service product to clients.

The best part of being a local small business owner is dealing with other local small business owners. Working for people that I can relate to means that I can create a positive impact on their family and financial well-being.

I believe that your greatest asset is not being the master of all things, but rather recognizing your greatest strengths and weaknesses. So my philosophy is to assist clients in sticking to what they do best, so I can handle the rest.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my core values of honesty, hard work, and humility. Through my process, I help to identify short and long term objectives, which aligns with my clients’ personal and business plans.

I attribute my success to my ability to communicate with clients effectively. Regardless of where the relationship begins, I know that being intimately involved with them and understanding their needs is what will lead to mutual success.

Every time I get to meet a new client and hear their story, it’s rewarding as I get to understand new perspectives and experiences, which will allow us both to grow as individuals. My mantra is that great partners create excellent results.

When I am not number crunching, I’m a husband and father of three boys. I spend most of my free time with them, and we live on a rural farm looking after many different types of animals.

I enjoy hard physical labor as much as the challenge of running a small business. I’m a coach for my sons' sports teams and believe that having my children learn the benefits of hard work and leading by example has a far greater impact than telling them what to do and how to do it.

As a family, we get involved in many community functions. I feel very strongly about being engaged in the community and helping those who are less fortunate, as I believe it helps to teach us all the value of helping others.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
